About My Organization: Bridges Out of Poverty St. Thomas Elgin

Bridges Out of Poverty St. Thomas Elgin is a group of committed community leaders and volunteers whose mission is to eliminate poverty by uniting the strengths and passions of those living in St. Thomas & Elgin County. Since 2010, this group has been passionate about reducing poverty in St. Thomas & Elgin County. Bridges out of Poverty is currently exploring interest in creating a poverty task force for Elgin County.

My Collaborative: Bridges out of Poverty Guiding Coalition

The backbone organization of Bridges out of Poverty is the Bridges out of Poverty Guiding Coalition, a member of the Vibrant Communities network since 2014. The initiative is led by community partners within Elgin County and is funded by Elgin St. Thomas Public Health/YWCA provide dedicated staff time and Trillium Grant funds. Our priorities areas are: food security, housing/homelessness, employment and income (living wage), and the Getting Ahead and Circles programs.
