About My City: Haldimand-Norfolk
Haldimand and Norfolk counties have a combined population of 107,000
Poverty issues came to the foreground during difficult economic times when Lake Erie Steel went through a lock out in 2009/10. This concern prompted a local poverty conversation with council, business members and other community stakeholders. They began to discuss poverty and held focus groups with individuals with lived experience and key stakeholders in order to develop a Forum.
