My Collaborative: Action to End Poverty in Grande Prairie

The initiative began with a community information session featuring Tamarack Institute in 2012. The CAEP was formed and is comprised of several community-based organizations that established goals, priorities and purpose in 2012. Their focus is gathering data on local poverty and the voices of people who’ve lived in poverty; creating systems change through coordination of services, practices, policy, and advocacy; building individual capacity by valuing people’s input, skills building and education; and building community capacity by identifying barriers, communicating with service providers, increasing coordination and challenging perceptions.
