Poverty Costs 2.0: Investing in Albertans

Poverty Costs 2.0 is the latest Cost of Poverty report from Action to End Poverty in Alberta and Vibrant Communities Calgary. 

Interest in reducing poverty among albertans is at an all time high.  With Grande Prairie, Medicine Hat, Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Lethbridge all emerging in recent years with poverty reduction strategies.  Earlier this year the premier of Alberta committed to eliminating child poverty with 5 years and reducing overall poverty in 10 years. 

The report argues that the key to staying the course in poverty reduction is through long term social investments.  The tools and evaluation mechanisms in this report can be used to work towards eliminating poverty in Alberta.
