Community members who are experiencing first-hand the challenges of the issue that a Collective Impact initiative is addressing bring much-needed urgency and credibility to the table.  Their practical expertise is essential to identifying effective strategies for advancing your effort. This webinar highlights some common pitfalls in cultivating leadership from people with “lived experience” and share useful insights and examples for how to do this well.

About the speaker

 Celeste Licorish was the driving force behind the development of Speak Now Hamilton Speakers Bureau at the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction. Her current extensive community involvement includes Board Member, McMaster University Research Ethics Board; Thought Leader with Vibrant Communities Canada; and founder and volunteer with a number of neighbourhood and community initiatives. Celeste recently joined the staff team at Hamilton Community Foundation as Advisor Philanthropic Services where she helps donors experience the joy of building community through giving.

Celeste has coaching expertise are in: meaningful engagement, storytelling, starting a Speakers Bureau, and fundraising and granting from a funder perspective.
