The pressures facing our cities is intense. Across the globe cities are working to address complex issues such as mobility and the movement of people; changing economies; the influx of technology platforms and the creation of smart cities; the maintenance of healthy and safe environments and the engagement and influence of citizens.

At the same time, there is immense hope as we look to each other to co-create the future we desire. Cities of the Future is a global movement focusing on people, government, initiatives, technologies and organizations working to increase the quality of life in today’s cities.

The 2017 Community Change Institute taking place September 25-29, 2017 in Vancouver, Canada, will be a truly transformational learning experience, bringing leading thinkers together with community change-makers to explore the critical role citizens, organizations and government play in co-creating the future of cities.

Learn through inspiring keynote speakers, peer discussion, design labs, arts and creativity, community tours, and over 30 workshops and tools in the areas of:

  • Collective Impact

  • Collaborative Leadership

  • Community Innovation

  • Community Engagement

  • Evaluating Community Impact

Community change practitioners will be joining from across Canada, the United States and internationally representing cross-sectoral organizations who focus on a range of topics from poverty, wellness, environmental sustainability, education and deepening community. We invite you to join us in beautiful Vancouver! This is one experience that will change how you work.

Co-Create

Our Learning Commons theme this year is Co-Create, with a special focus on the art of creating together. We're bringing together an artistic collective that will engage us throughout our week together. Honestly, we are not 100% sure what our artists will engage us with but we know it will inspire!

On Thursday evening, immerse yourself in the Musqueam Nations arts and culture. We will tour the grounds and learn about the Musqueam story and traditions. We will end the evening off with a traditional Musqueam Feast and song. It is an evening you won’t want to miss!
