This summer JJ Sandler, a bartender at Pauper’s Pub in Toronto,  decided to create his own unique fundraiser called Bartending For Good.

The premise of Bartending For Good is simple: for him to make  as much money as physically possible so that he can give away as much money as physically possible. Beginning June 1, 2012 he has been maintaining meticulous records of his expenses and gratuities that he receives while bartending. After a $1500 gratuity threshold for himself ($1000 for his school tuition, the other $500 is a contingency fund in case his paychecks are not enough to cover monthly expenses) the rest of his gratuities will be evenly split between the Children’s Aid Foundation‘s “Ignite the Spark” fund and ALIV(e).

JJ has already raised about $3000 through Bartending For Good, and will continue to raise  money for ALIV(e) and the Ignite the Spark fund up to and including his final fundraising event on August 30th.
