A first step in reducing poverty

Counting Change in Grande Prairie was the theme of a community gathering to take the first steps to develop a poverty reduction strategy for this city in Alberta.  More than 40 community leaders identified a variety of priorities including access to education and training, health services, affordable housing and income security.

Liz Weaver, Vibrant Communities Canada and Dan Meades, Vibrant Communities Calgary shared their perspectives on the national and provincial pictures.  The timing seems right in Grande Prairie as they begin to work toward change in their community.
